Closing Soon: Det Materielle Liv at Sophienholm

Through works by Frederik Nystrup-Larsen and Oliver Sundqvist, Julian Juhlin, Nina Saunders, Kaspar Bonnèn, Ulrik Crone, Jakob Kolding, Rose Eken and C.W. Eckersberg the exhibition Det Materielle Liv (The Material Life) explore how we relate to all the things we purchase and surround ourselves with and. 

Everything points to the fact that it is time to detach ourselves from consumerism in favour of the intangible joys: love, nature and art. But the aesthetes are, if anything, preoccupied with materials. And isn't art itself captivated by the material? If art is supposed to be an alternative to the shopping centre, it requires a conversation about how we and art use things for much more than their actual function.
