Now Hiring: Gallery / Store Assistant (Maternity Cover)

V1 Gallery offers a position as Gallery / Store Assistant at our headquarters in the Meatpacking District of Copenhagen. The candidate will be introduced to the many aspects and daily operations of an international gallery such as sales, customer contact, advertising, database registration and administration.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

- Communicating about art and exhibitions – verbal and written 

- CRM, communication with clients and answering inquiries 

- Managing orders at the gallery’s online store v1gallery.com/store 

- Registering new products for gallery’s online store 

- Packing and shipping orders 

- Stock counts, updates, and organization 

- Updating artist CVs, bios, etc. 

- Other practical tasks that arise in the day-to-day maintenance of the galleries 

We are looking for a candidate who is: 

- Self-motivated, pro-active, solution and detail-oriented 

- Strong communication skills and team player attitude 

- Fluent in English at a professional level

- Interest in contemporary art

- Solid sense of order and organization

- Flexible in terms of working hours

- Retail experience is an advantage but not a requirement

- Experience with Adobe Photoshop is an advantage but not a requirement

- Experience with Shopify is an advantage but not a requirement

It is a full-time position of 37,5 hours/week. Working days are Mondays to Friday 9:00-17:30 and Saturdays 11:00-15:00. Extra hours are to be expected during exhibition previews, exhibition openings, art fairs and events/releases. Paid position.

Starting mid-June 2025 (unless otherwise agreed) until June 2026. This is a maternity cover. Please note that the gallery is closed during Summer Holidays from July 6 – July 27, 2025.

V1 Gallery was founded in 2002 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Today the gallery has three locations, V1 Gallery, V1 SALON and Eighteen, in the central meatpacking district of Copenhagen. In V1 Gallery and Eighteen you can enjoy changing exhibitions. In V1 SALON you will find a curated selection of original artworks, books, editions and are invited to experience exhibitions, talks and signings.
