"Have you ever tried standing in a street and following people with your eyes – and being struck by the thought: Just think! All these people – each and every one of them – have their own story. For 13 years, Danish photographer Peter Funch lived in New York. A metropolis with a jumble of people, eight million inhabitants. He also followed people with his eyes. Continuously. But he also did something else ... he stood in the streets of Manhattan and photographed them. The figures of the big city. The random passers-by. He stood in the same spots several times a week and photographed them. For 9 years" - Henriette Lind writes about Peter Funch's work method that resulted in two renowned and iconic photographic series Babel Tales and 42nd and Vanderbilt.
