From 2007 to 2016, between 8:30 am and 9:30 am, at the southern corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in New York City, Danish photographer, Peter Funch photographed passersby during a fragment of their daily routine.
The two frames here, seemingly shot seconds apart, were in fact shot 14 days and 46 seconds apart. Funch edited down thousands of images to create his book, 42nd and Vanderbilt. A fragment of our routine becomes a meditation on time, mortality, the economy, privacy, and our inner selves.
