Frederik Nystrup-Larsen opens exhibition project in Skagen
Paintings That Sell Houses is an artistic installation that actively works with stereotypical notions of the place Skagen and the images associated with it: the dunes, the sunset and the yellow houses with beautiful flowers in the front garden.
The paintings are created to be displayed in a house that is for sale, and the works are intended as part of the selling experience; they must not only help sell the house, but also a romantic, and perhaps also kitsch, dream and vision of Skagen.
Paintings That Sell Houses is part of On Board, an exhibition project by Skal Contemporary in Skagen. On Board takes contemporary art out of familiar settings in a new encounter with the (semi)public space, when the art is exhibited at five different locations in the city.
