"Thinking like a mountain" is a concept from the American naturalist and environmentalist Aldo Leopold's 1949 book A Sand County Almanac. It describes the practice of viewing the natural world with a long-term, holistic perspective, recognising the profound interconnectedness of the ecosystem rather than focusing on short-term human interests. This involves understanding how different elements, such as predator and prey populations, work together in a delicate balance that maintains the integrity and health of the entire biotic community.
