V1 Gallery's presentation CHART Art Fair 2025 | Booth 28

V1 Gallery is excited to present a series of new paintings and sculptures by Frederik Nystrup-Larsen for our booth at CHART Art Fair 2025 under the title Bonding. The works centers the planet’s current mass extinction event wherein thousands of species are disappearing rapidly. Nystrup-Larsen’s practice encompasses plant blindness and painting disappearing species as a way of preserving and giving new life to endangered species. This series is hyper-local, focusing on at-risk and extinct species in and around Copenhagen.

Frederik Nystrup-Larsen sculptures at CHART in Tivoli

CHART in Tivoli invites visitors to explore site-specific installations in the historic amusement park Tivoli Gardens. This year, you can experience works by Bjørn Nørgaard (Galleri Susanne Ottesen), Frederik Næblerød (Alice Folker Gallery), Frederik Nystrup-Larsen (V1 Gallery), Harry Anderson (Saskia Neuman Gallery), Jenny Brockmann (Dorothée Nilsson Gallery), Kirsten Ortwed (palace enterprise) Sif Itona Westerberg (Galleri Bo Bjerggaard), Tal R (Galleri Bo Bjerggaard).

Ivy Fence is Frederik Nystrup-Larsen's intervention in Tivoli’s space–a pentagonal glass pavilion veiled by aluminium ivy. This installation serves as an image and reminder of nature crawling back over the man-made; the ivy is insistent, penetrating the grid of civilization. The work lies between decoration and colonization – where nature, even as a construction, reclaims its place.

The work is shown in parallel with Nystrup-Larsen’s solo presentation at CHART, where ivy also appears on frames and in paintings.

Each of the eight artists exhibiting in Tivoli has also been invited to present a plinth-based work at the fair. Nystrup-Larsen will present the glazed stoneware sculpture Reunion, 2024, in 'Festsalen' at Charlottenborg, where the CHART 2025 Talks Programme will be held.

After the art fair closes on 31 August, CHART in Tivoli will remain on view until 21 September.

Cristina de Miguel works on view in Charlottenborg mezzanine

For CHART 2025, we are pleased to present three works by Cristina de Miguel in her body of work called Perras, in which she explores the chimera, a hybrid creature both human and animal, illusory and mythic. The resulting figures serve as a vessel for examining how queer bodies find freedom, a question de Miguel often interrogates in her practice.

Mads Hilbert participates in Start Collecting with CHART

As part of CHART Art Fairs focus on expanding the conversation around contemporary art, CHART have a curated a special exhibition in the in the Chapel (Kapellet) of Charlottenborg. Start Collecting with Chart will feature contributions by established international names and emerging artists alike and we are pleased to announce that Mads Hilbert will participate in the exhibition with a new oil painting.

All works included in the exhibition will be for sale through the galleries and will be priced under 20.000 DKK / 2700 EUR. Please note that the work has to be purchased in person at the fair.
