Portraits of female protagonists contemplating the human condition. Smoking cigarettes - a gentle reminder of life’s brevity, often in the company of cats, gazing into the void. Tears leaving eyes or skies. Moments of introspection, being and becoming. Dreaming with eyes wide open. A vulnerable sense of strength.
Cats, Tears and Cigarettes is Camilla Mihkelsoo’s (born 1978, Estonia) first solo exhibition with V1 SALON. It presents 19 new oil paintings on canvas.
Mihkelsoo holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, Finland.
Recent exhibitions include Fortune Teller at V1 SALON, Copenhagen, Denmark, New Portraits, Alzueta Gallery, Barcelona, Spain, Fool’s Journey at Eighteen, Copenhagen, Denmark Cry me a river, Galleria Snow, Berlin, Germany. Her work is part of collections such as the Rovaniemi Art Museum / Wihuri Foundation, the Saastamoinen Foundation, Hämeenlinna Art Museum, and the Finnish State Art Collection.
