V1 Gallery’s series of studio views allows you to have a sneak peak into the everyday life of the artists we work with. We ask them a few questions about what they are working on and what inspires them. The features are accompanied by photos from the artists’ studios. This time the studio view is with Mexican/Korean artist Monica Kim Garza:

What are you working on:

“I just finished some projects due to release / be exhibited this Spring. So, I am preparing more works for other exhibitions  later in the year and just working on new ideas I have.  I’m constantly working on something in my mind…”

What are you listening to: 

“A lot of different things… I really enjoy House music, RNB, Rock, and Hip Hop. Currently, I’m into Young Scooter, Ahmet Kilic, Black Coffee, Soulection, OVO sounds, Jack White, and anything good.”

What are you looking at: 

“I really like Top Chef, Shark Tank, Stephen Colbert, and any kind of documentary. I love Planet Earth, and medical documentaries. I also love books like Steve Jobs and Shoe Dog. I‘m also into fashion.. I really like Ader Error, Stylenanda, and Alexander Mcqueen right now. Big fan of jackets and shoes… Nature is my savior. I love the beach or the jungle. I just went to the jungle in Belize and it was very relaxing. I’m a swimmer and hiker type of person…. Anything outside with the sunshine makes me feel complete.”
