Initiated during Misaki Kawai’s travel in Taiwan in 2019, sold out artist book Steamy Buns was published by Nos:Books in 2020. With her vibrant brushstrokes, Misaki Kawai paints and creates what seems decisive and effortless, countless figures. Such pure joy grows little by little in the reader’s heart, warmly rising like the steam buns. What Misaki Kawai enjoyed most from her trip to Taiwan was the everyday steamy buns she had in the breakfast shop.
