KUNSTEN AALBORG ACQUIRES MØRKEMÆND BY HESSELHOLDT & MEJLVANG

V1 Gallery is pleased to announce that Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg has acquired the work “Mørkemænd” (“Dark Men”) by artist duo Hesselholdt & Mejlvang.

“Made of cowhide previously used for clogs, the work was created in collaboration with a seamstress from the Sanita Factory, initially exhibited at the Biennial Socle du Monde @heartmuseum. The title of the work refers to underlying forces and power structures, to the obscure political games that take place behind closed doors. The form of the figures is paraphrases early Ku Klux Klan suits from before they developed the familiar white suit.” – Hesselholdt & Mejlvang

The work is currently on view at Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg
